Cassius sits, no longer Lorel, no longer as pavonine as before. Everything aches in this dreadful, damp place, but it is only flesh & bone. Sinews & organs held onto her slight frame. The invitation surprised her, a welcome surprise of many that weren't. This silly fop, this client that took off before his ridiculous quest's completion, she never expected to see him again. She frowns slightly as she lifts the glass. Before…before she would have been adverse to drinking the fabled Hesperidean Cider. Even though the claims of it were most likely false, immortality was nothing to risk. She'd seen paths it could lead to, where bodies would be hard-pressed to any longer be called human. Rotting corpses, exposed skeletons, only their spirit continuing to animate them. She wouldn't really call it "living". Before she considered that no kind of life for herself, but now she may as well be. Her own will being what continues her on, the duty she still had to complete. Murdering Scathewick was going to be marvellous. And that pledge, and that wish is what animates her own broken body. At least it isn't Venderbight's screecher wards.

It took awhile to process he was referring to her as "Ellis", the name processing over-and-over in her head. She hadn't heard it in so long, and the ridiculousness brings amusement which flickers in her eyes. With a smile resting on the edge of the glass, she inhales--it smells more of orchards in sunshine than any sort of alcohol. Memories of a home she can never return to again until she is truly, truly dead. Her only ever home. It is nice sitting here, and now all this time later she knows the why of Red Honey, the physical thirst to feel memories such as this home smelling cider. Before the nostalgia can turn to regrets she shoots the drink back. Letting all feeling go to the experience.

Ashley commented on a post I shared on Facebook about a found "cat snake" (a ferret) that they looked like Knives. Knives is honoriamharlowe's [her #EBZRP character] pet weasel. I wanted to try drawing it. I actually wanted to draw Knives & Triton on a walk; but given events of this weekend I am less likely to do so. I tried to capture the annoyance of being on a leash so I tried to add Lydia's pissy face. I went with purple as I think of it for Honoria.

This was drawn & coloured on my Samsung Galaxy S5 with my finger. I got ArtRage for Android.

I wanted to draw doodles of Frederick, Elise, Mila, Flora, Robert, et cetera, et cetera. But my tablet driver & my laptop don't get along sometimes (my tablet is a 2007 Bamboo Fun CTE-450), and when I started drawing Alfred, things got choppy. Checking the Wacom Preferences confirmed my suspicions. I'm not up to restartng my laptop right now (I worry about my portable Skype getting borked by Microsoft every time I exit it/sign-in), so here is just 3. And the labelling with my trackpad.

So since I drew William for his birthday [April 13TH], here are the twins on theirs. And also my first ever attempt to draw Maria. I'm really fond of these two, and though I don't think on this AU much now, I would think of them having little adventures. I am also proud that I drew these on the same page and didn't have to resize either of them or move them around~

The teacups are based on Sally Webster's mugs from "Coronation Street". I will post a screenshot of them when I find an episode with a good shot of them, but I've always been fond of them since Rosie was still dating Jason. The Country Store bulk & health food store in Greenwood has a little teapot decorated like them too. You can kind of see them in this .GIF post & this .GIF post, but only briefly. [I actually had this post ready at 10:00PM-ish, but have been looking for a screenshot of them :/ ]

And Daphne's dress is based-off the one here. And her shoes are based-off these.

Here is a drawing I drew of Lorel in 2010 from when I first played The Jack-of-Smiles storyline. The Watchmaker's Hill one. I found a Draft this week in my GMail of something I wrote of her dealing with a Jack, but nervous about posting it on the ls_cassius Journal. Anyway; Lorel has 10 Annoyance to the Jack-of-Smiles, over 80 Petrified Humnan Hearts, and so many damn Diamonds from this time.

I've not really shared or talked much about my AU characters of William, Daphne, & Percy. Sunday was William's birthday though [April 13TH], so I decided to try doodling a picture of him, since all I did was a tektek doll (with 2 different versions because the hair style I wanted wasn't in the exact colour shade I wanted, and I couldn't find one in that shade that I wanted) in 2011. I also wish I was better at not drawing things so small. This is only a little over 300x300 pixels wide, but drawing things small is a problem I've had for years. Which is why when I scan things I scan at 400DPI; but since I drew this with the pencil tool in ArtRage 2.6 I can't really adjust it -____-;



He is kind of based on this kid:

Back from about a year ago. On my Ask.FM account. There is one where I played a knight ran by a peep that I'll post later. The knight person also wanted to start another one wih me, but after this I lost my confidence/trust so never did so. I have been debating trying though, but now anxious that she'd not be up for it after all this time. Again; this one never got finished leading to a lot of crap feelings.

Lorel is a terrible character to use for a supernatural story as it all creeps her right out.

I have had this scene in my head for years, but either never got around to working it out, or didn't feel 'allowed' to post it. This year I'm trying to do things for fandom_stocking (my stocking is {HERE}, by the way.) though, and wanted to get into capacity for writing other things so I decided to start work on this first. I am working on the next part now (about 300 words in at 10:05PM 12-20-2013) but thought that I should split it up after the last sentence sounded like an end.

This is how Lorel & Alfred met. I have ideas for, and used to think of writing out little adventures they had as partners, but I doubt I ever will. But this part here is about their first meeting. For those that don't know; Alfred is Lorel's spouse that was murdered, and also was her teacher & partner at the inquiry agent office they set-up (L & A). His murder was the reason she started her quest for vengeance, and why she took on the persona of L.S. Cassius & went to The 'Neath/London.

This was quickly drawn for Alexis Kennedy as an attempt at a thank-you. He sent me a
Luxuriantly Coiffed Sorrow-Spider after I e-mailed about my fuck-up of not knowing the Rose-bearing Maggot was only worth 3 Masquing and only if under 25 Masquing total. So thus after over a week of grinding for Gifts of Scorn, purchasing a bunch of Nex on Robin's account, and trying for over a day to draw the Lilac card again, I was 3 Masquing short of the Companion I wanted--Lettice, the Mercy (I got the Canny Costermonger earlier in the week as I was reminded of Lorrie). I had the choice of giving-up, or trading-in the Promissory Note for Intimate Favours I also bought, or waiting to see if Lettice became available another way. Given how horrible this month, and especially this week has been, I had taken the give-up option.

I expected no response to my e-mail, and felt silly for having sent one. But at 9:15PM AST I got:
