I bought ArtRage for Android months ago and I've been doing a few 600x600 doodles with my finger on my Samsung Galaxy S5 using it. Most get posted to Instagram too. Here are 5 more of them.

-----

Summer Alexander:

"Another drawing with my finger on my S5. My Alexander character
Accidentally erased the wrong line and left another so he looks like he has 6 fingers.
"

My #AVEX2015 Tuesday outfit:

"S5 doodle of me and the outfit I wore on Tuesday. Hiram McDaniels shirt, camouflage tights, & pink hair band with pink lipstick."

---

Zinnian:

"Another S5 finger doodle of my Zinnian character. I kinda gave-up when the Watercolour ArtRage for Android brush wasn't doing what I wanted."

Theodore:

"Finger doodle of the sinful dork. Probably thinking about escalators or such!"

Back months ago I tried installing Corel Painter 12 on my laptop, after having not used Corel Painter in years [though I used their WordPerfect (that came with my Dell desktop) as the last non-Apache OpenOffice sucked working with my custom dictionary]. I really cannot remember what settings I used for this Kaido Kio picture, but I liked how pigmented the brushes were. Anyway I've wanted to draw some things and thought I'd try installing it again (despite it being arduous in my zoomed-in resolution).

Here are a few tests with different programs, and I still prefer OpenCanvas 3.03e & MyPaint for faux watercolour, as they mix more realistically (when I have a wet colour and drag it into another still wet colour, I expect them to mix, and the bottom colour to follow what path I take the brush in). I don't like the amount of white in OC's watercolour brush though, which is why I work on Multiply layers.

Original, sketched quick in ArtRage 2.6:

The colours I used for the outfit are from my default Zinnian palette, the red & brownish being from his earrings.

I really disliked Krita. It saved the layered file I painted in as corrupted so I lost all that work. The developers removed all previous versions because they didn't want someone running it on Windows XP (despite it working on it). I couldn't figure-out how to use the eyedropper tool to select a colour from one image (my Zinnian palette) to use on the image I was colouring [ended-up pasting the palette as a Multiply layer and selecting from that in the corner]. And closing one file caused the whole program to close. I hate Windows 7's MS Paint, and have only used it a few times--I use the Paint XP program (especially since most of my MS Paint usage is to save ALT+Print Screen screenshots, and to edit pixels) instead! I have ArtRage 3 Studio Pro 3.5, but I've not tried much of it to see how it's for faux watercolour. I don't even have it installed on the laptop since the Windows reinstall, as I use ArtRage for pencil & marker sketching, and I much prefer the open workspace of 2.6 & how the canvas is set-up as a background in it. It's a shame 2.6 doesn't offer anything but acrylic/oil painting, as I ♥♥♥♥ how real most of their tools look.

When I 'watercolour' digitally, I usually take a traditional drawing or one with pencil in ArtRage 2.6, open it in OpenCanvas 3.03e, and paint over it using Multiply players & adjusting it's Watercolour tool. I usually then paste the finished image over a Multiply layer of a paper texture, usually also with a Multiply layer of the original sketch to make the lineart more pronounced.

I have an old version of PaintTools SAI I've not tried installing on the laptop, but if I do I'll add what I colour with it to here too. If I had more energy I'd print-off the lineart & paint it with physical watercolours too, to show a comparison--I just wish I still had my set of high pigment Grumbacher watercolours. The set I have now has a higher amount of white filler to it, and I dislike it. I don't do much traditional art now because of the difficulties with scanning the colour blue, which is a colour I often use a lot of. And now I have the whole hand issue too, but the fat tablet pen is easier to hold than pencils/pens.

I have a 240 page notebook that I've been using for all the courses I've taken this year. I am now using it for Discover Driving which I am retaking as I did it around 2005/2006 and some laws have changed [like the school zone one], and I would rather have the course again instead of cramming for the beginners' test with my old notes for the 5TH time. They aren't charging me full price as I was part paid for my driving last time, but didn't get to do much of it. Anyway! I've been drawing a bit in it. Mostly just in the margins [like this of Lorrie in bed with a healing dislocated shoulder in a sling after using her sword to cut-off Scathewick's head]; but I've left the last section [it's a 3 section/subject one] for fucking around in, unless I fill-up the other sections. So far it only has 3 doodles in said section ^^;

Today I drew a doodle of Zinnian wearing the outfit [excluding the wristwatch] I wore on Friday. Which had a t-shirt [Joe Fresh, $1.48 from the clearance rack] I bought because it was something my little Alexander would wear. And after reinstalling my scanner [which I used in August but must have deleted a file with System Restore for it] I scanned it and 2 other doodles. Then I coloured it.

And back in the spring [I misread the RAZR filename as in the autumn] I doodled a picture of Shahi from "Boy Princess" during my food handling course.

Fullsize )

Lastly; I doodled the first ever picture of me with my 'new' haircut. This was around 3:00PM of a course I had been at since 8:45AM, when I was so tired and getting SO ANNOYED at the guy who sat next to me [we had to share the question books for the quizzes, and he'd fiddle with his 'phone (which an instructor had told us we weren't to use as practice for when driving), or talk to guy beside him instead of doing the answers. Then when I'd get annoyed from waiting and flip to the next page to do those questions myself, he'd take the book and huddle over it to catch-up on his answers (meaning I'd have to hurry to finish the questions near the end, or do them from memory). Every time he'd get his 'phone out of his pocket he'd hit my hip, elbow, or knee and he kept taking-up more and more of the corner of the table until I was sitting on the edge and had moved my notebook to my lap as I didn't even have that much space left on the table. (I'm going to go out of my way to avoid him for the next 3 sessions)].

August 15TH is the day I picked for Alexander's birthday all those years ago. Making him a Leo, and peridot his birthstone (lime green is his favourite colour anyway).

I am wearing my Three Doge Moon t-shirt today, so figured I might as well draw him in it.

[I had to reinstall my tablet, ArtRage, and what-not as I reinstalled Windows on my laptop. I haven't got my printers/scanner set-up yet, so the program I use for cropping isn't on yet]

On April 9TH, 2014 I wore this outfit to a meeting I had (and again on the 11TH as I took Nicki to the vets & didn't want to wear clean clothes), and it seemed like something Alexander would wear. Of my characters he is the one that prefers hoodies & jeans. I used the ArtRage 2.6 marker tool, which usually makes colours darker than usual. The hoodie is a West 49 one that I have 2ND hand. It's rather beat-up, but I love camouflage and it has stud along the outside hood edge. I usually go around in slip-on sandals because Ii dislike wearing shoes & socks. They are made out of the stuff Crocs are, and have those stupid looking holes in the top, but I bought them because they are all one piece and spongy.

Here are just the colour palettes I have for the characters I have drawn on R-2E-054. I have many on my external hard-drives, but this is what I have on here. Also these are uploaded on Twitpic.

And my skintones of all the characters I've drawn on this laptop looks like dicks.

I was looking in my Scrapbook for an old picture of Lestat, and found this rather nice coloured pencil drawing of my little Alexander. It made me smile, and I might colour it tonight. Shame I didn't scan it very big :[

EDIT---

I coloured him in OpenCanvas 3.03e~

EDIT---
Probably sketched in somewhere around 2005-2007.

EDIT---
Now on my DeviantART { http://lady-noremon.deviantart.com/art/Aha-An-old-drawing-of-Zinnian-441916933 }!

Scribbled an Alexander

I did the colour first and the outline was an after thought.

My V:tM character. I haven't drawn in awhile and things just weren't coming out, so I just went with using colours first. I also haven't drawn him since 2009-ish :/
